If you’re needing something to do this weekend, come mix and mingle at Greenville’s local art scene, First Fridays. On the first Friday of each month, local artists open their art and studios to the public. One of our favorite studios to visit is the Art and Light Studio on Pendleton Street. This Friday, September 4, starting at 6:30, we are teaming up  with local textile artists from Fox to the Opera. We will be printing some T-shirt designs for them as well as some of our own. They will be available for sale this weekend as well as throughout the rest of the month.  Also take a look below at some of Fox to the Opera’s other work (pictured below). These artists draw inspiration from Vintage textile designs and quilting styles. They also incorporate into their work antique charms and sewing notions that they’ve acquired from preceding generations. This fusion of old and new, we think, is sure to start a hot trend in fabric jewelry and textile arts.   Check out their website at www.foxtotheopera.etsy.com

To get to Art and Light Studios, follow Academy past downtown toward Easley.  Shortly after passing downtown, turn right onto Pendleton st.  Art and Light Studios will be the triangle-shaped building on your left a few blocks down.   The will be open Saturday afternoon as well!  Contact them at the link above for more information about their hours.
